Just put myself on LinkedIn - it was extremely easy, I didn't have to think at all just filled in the blanks suggested by LinkedIn. I even put a photo up and now I'm feeling very exposed. I skipped a lot of the LinkedIn suggestions because I've always preferred under the radar. I need time to get used to the idea of seeing myself up there. I'll probably add more information - LinkedIn is encouraging me with little pep talks about how many more hits I'll get it I share more. I have an awful feeling I'm a confessional type and once I get going I'll be unstoppable.

My Life and Libraries
My first memory of a library is being with my father in a big bright space and the librarian talking to my father and looking down at me and I was overawed and holding a book in one hand and hanging on to my father's hand with the other.
I never remember being in the children's section - I remember the adult non-fiction section. I loved the philosophy books even though I didn't understand them but I felt they'd explain everything if only I could make sense of them - but I also loved the fact that they didn't make sense. I also remember poetry - crows in particular.
I never remember wanting to be a Librarian but I was and continue to be a library user - all and any kinds of library.
I fell into working in libraries by chance after doing a typing course and getting a job in a county council. Two weeks typing catalogue cards and I was hooked!
40 years later through a range of libraries and I'm looking forward to being a retired librarian - one who blogs.
